What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is used for a wide range of problems which include phobias, weight reduction, smoking cessation, stress reduction, pain relief, anger management, confidence building, sleep problems and habits like nail biting.

The therapist induces the client into a state of deep relaxation and in doing so is able to 'talk to the subconscious mind'.  We normally use the conscious mind in our daily lives with decision making, and in new situations where we need to fathom what we need to do we use rational thinking.  Our subconscious mind is hidden but very important and works on 'auto pilot' and deals with our emotions, imagination, memories and autonomic nervous system.

Just some of the things hypnotherapy can help with:

· Control your weight
· Pain Management
· Relax and learn to let go
· Hang-Ups, Fears and Phobia cessation
· Become a non-smoker
· Stress Management
· Relationship Issues
· Eliminate restrictive behaviour patterns
. Sleep disorders
. Bereavement therapy
IBS therapy
. Regression

What does a treatment involve?

Sensations will vary from person to person and may be described as a very relaxing experience.

Hypnosis, or trance, is an altered state of consciousness that we enter and leave naturally and feels very much like day dreaming, or the feeling between sleeping and waking.

Hypnotherapy is a two way process between therapist and client. A person cannot be hypnotised unless he or she agrees and co-operates. Whilst hypnotised, nobody can make the client do anything that they do not want to do. The client is able to stop the session at any time.

By working together much can be achieved.  Hypnotherapy can open doors and find answers.  Every session is individually tailored to my client's needs.

In my first session with a new client I initially assess my client's needs by asking questions and listening carefully.  I then work out a treatment plan with their full consent and at the end will do some relaxation therapy.

Everything  that is said is strictly confidential.  I also work to a code of ethics that is laid down by the National Council for Hypnotherapy.

Your comfort and peace of mind is always important to me and I am happy to answer any questions that you may have.
